Lately when I do my sessions I really focus on the childrens' faces. I always take the full body shots so it shows how little they are but then I try to get in really close and focus on thier eyes and expressions. That is what I like to remember about my kids. It's their sweet little faces that change so quickly and I want to capture how they are that day forever.

Where is this awesome field??? I love it!!! Could let me know what apertures you find work best for both close ups like those on the kids as well as for group shots? I just can't seem to get it right when I do and am getting frustrated...thanks for your amazing photos I hope to be as fantastic as you are someday :)
Thank you Ariel! Send me an email and I will send you the address for the field. As far as aperture, for family shots I try to have it set at 8 so the chance for more people in focus is greater. When I do the close ups, I shoot as wide open as whatever lens I am using will get. I only want the eyes in focus so make sure their eyes are on the same plain, set your aperture as low as it goes (mine is 1.4 or 2.8 depending on lens) and shoot away.
Amazing!
Would love to get the chance and work with you to learn!
I still love checking out whats new on your blog. I too love the field. I shoot in fields, but find it hard to find one with a good view of the mountains like this one. Would I impose if I were to ask for the address as well? I was going to sign up for smugmug and I think I can get you a discount on your next years reup if I list you that referred me, interested? Great stuff as always.
